Delete Your Account

Request permanent deletion of your ResiFind account and associated data.

Recommended: Delete via App

The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the ResiFind mobile app:

  1. 1Open the ResiFind app and go to Settings
  2. 2Tap Account → Delete My Account
  3. 3Confirm deletion by re-entering your password
  4. 4Your account will be permanently deleted immediately

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

Your profile information (name, email, phone, photo)
Student or owner profile details
Your authentication account (Supabase Auth)
Property applications and bookmarks
In-app messages and conversations
Search history and preferences
SOS emergency contact settings
Payment methods (if applicable)

Data Retention & Exceptions

In accordance with South African law (POPIA) and our legal obligations, certain data may be retained:

  • •Transaction records: Retained for 5 years for tax and audit purposes
  • •Legal disputes: Data relevant to pending disputes may be retained until resolved
  • •Anonymised analytics: Aggregate usage data without personal identifiers
